We are celebrating Spring in the Media Center! K & 1 are planting and learning about plants. They made bookmarks about what they want to plant in their garden! Here are some pictures of their plants sprouting in the Media Center. 2nd Grade is learning about Butterflies and writing poems about the butterfly life cycle. They will release butterflies in the garden later in the Spring. 3rd Grade is reading "Tops & Bottoms" and writing about what they would like to grow in their garden. 4th Grade is reading "Miss Ruphius" and writing about how they will make the world more beautiful. 5th Grade is reading "Diana's White House Garden" and learning about Victory Gardens during WWII. They are also making origami butterflies and frogs to decorate the Media Center. Have a fantastic Spring Break!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America Day in the Media Center! It's so inspirational to see what students want to be when they grow up or where they want to go after reading Oh, The Places You'll Go! March is Women's History Month and students have been using iPads to access a quiz provided by PebbleGo to see what famous woman from history they share interests with. Click here to access the quiz. We have been creating Biography Pyramids in 1st and 2nd grade and creating ChatterPix in 3rd and 4th grade. Click here for an example of a ChatterPix! We are very excited about partnering with the Dolvin Discovery Lab to help K and 1st grade students learn about plants and planting! Right now classes are planting in the Discovery Lab and the plants are being stored in the Media Center windows where they can get plenty of light until we are ready to transplant them outdoors in the Children's Garden after Spring Break. The new Georgia Picture Book and Children's Book Award Nominees are out! Click here for the lists! Please help your students be 100% Accountable and return their library books! |
