April is National Poetry Month! To keep with our gardening theme, 2nd grade has been creating poems about butterflies, 1st grade will be writing acrostic poems about the garden and Kindergarten will write 5 senses poems about the garden. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade are learning about the science of origami and are making butterflies, frogs and flowers to decorate our indoor garden! They are also decorating a mural to hang in the Media Center! Planting has begun in the Classroom Garden, here are some pictures of Mrs. Keller's class weeding and planting in their bed with Mrs. McLean! Hard to believe, but it's almost time for Summer Reading! The theme for summer reading is Libraries Rock. We will have a School-Wide Summer Reading Kick-Off on Tuesday, May 8th with Miss Laura from the Spruill Oaks Library! It's also time to remember to bring back overdue library books!
