Corinne will be going on to compete in the State Competition, congratulations to all who competed! We are voting for our favorite 2018-2019 Georgia Picture Book and Children's Book Award Nominees in the Media Center and look forward to submitting our favorite books to the State Competition! After voting, Mrs. Thomas is reading the Georgia Picture Book Award Nominee, After the Fall, How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again and students are participating in a Novel Engineering Lesson using Keva Planks and Legos. Next week we will start a lesson using Dash, and the students will learn how to code Dash using Blockly, a visual drag-and-drop programming tool developed by Google that allows children to snap together commands like puzzle pieces. Upcoming Events: Thursday, February 28th we will celebrate Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss' Birthday. Students and staff will dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss Character and we will read our favorite Dr. Seuss books in the Media Center! Thursday, February 28th is also a Digital Citizenship Parent Meeting from 4:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. in the Dolvin Media Center, followed by the 1st Grade Musical. I will present information from GOennounce “Where Students Start Their Positive Digital Footprint.” February is African-American History Month and we have many books on display in the Media Center for students to check out. Please help your students be 100% Accountable and help them bring their library books back on time and in good condition!
