We have been reading GA Picture Book Award Nominees in the Media Center! They are high quality picture books that connect to children, community and the curriculum. 3rd-5th grade will create book talks of their favorite picture book and K-2nd grade will conduct research on the book of their choice. We read the GA Picture Book Award Nominee, "Her Right Foot" by Dave Eggers, Illustrated by Shawn Harris. Students researched the Statue of Liberty on PebbleGo and shared what they learned by creating Word Clouds and sharing facts and drawings of the Statue of Liberty. Some classes used Keva Planks and Legos to make their own statues. Current lessons in the Media Center will include Non Fiction Text Features and Exploring Fiction Genres. Stay tuned for photos! Dolvin Technology Competition is set for November 19th from 8:00-10:00 am. Students who win their category will represent our school at the Fulton County Technology Competition to be held at Centennial High School on Saturday, December 14th. Students and teachers will dress up as their favorite book characters or in their favorite pajamas and celebrate reading! Our News Splash Team wore purple to support Dolvin's Relay for Life Team!
