Our Scholastic Book Fair will begin on Tuesday, September 7th with preview week! Students will come to the Book Fair with their class and create a wish list to take home. Beginning Monday, September 13th, students come to the Book Fair with their class to purchase books. Click here for information about creating eWallets, a letter from Ms. Cooke and more. Students are learning how to be good Digital Citizens in the Media Center! Lessons for K-2nd grade are focusing on Media Balance and how important it is to have Media Balance. They are also learning a great way to Pause for People and why they need Device-Free Moments! Click here for the K-2nd grade Nearpod Lesson if you would like to go over it with your student! Lessons for 3rd-5th grade are focusing on student's Digital Footprints. This includes Private vs Personal Information as well as the Online Tracks that students leave. Click here for the 3rd-5th grade Nearpod Lesson. Students have been checking out a lot of books and are, for the most part, bringing their books back on time--we have a two week check out. One problem we have encountered is that students are damaging books with leaky water bottles. Please help your student by providing a water bottle that doesn't leak and showing your student how to place their water bottle in the water bottle pouch on the outside of their backpack--not inside their backpack. They also should not eat or drink while reading their library books! Thanks for your assistance! Fulton County Schools is introducing Beanstack, an online reading challenge and tracking program to help build a culture of reading at school as well as at home. I have begun to present this program to 3rd-5th grade students as part of the Media Center Curriculum. Stay tuned for more information as the program is rolled out in the district!
